We should spend more time honoring Texas’ real leaders.

Good morning,

At their annual events, many organizations like to give baubles and plaques to politicians. We’re different: we present engraved swords to Texas’ grassroots leaders.

I’ll tell you about the Conservative Leader Award in today's Texas Minute.

At our annual Conservative Leaders Gala [[link removed]], Empower Texans presents engraved cavalry swords to men and women who have distinguished themselves as leaders in Texas’ grassroots movement. The awardees are individuals who have been nominated by their fellow activists around the state.

Those award recipients are individuals who don’t hold public office or seek the spotlight; instead, they diligently work to make Texas a stronger, better place to live. Each honoree is someone on the front lines, cheerfully leading their friends and family into the fight.

Find below the names of the past recipients of the Conservative Leader Award.

Nominate [[link removed]] someone you think should be awarded this honor at the 2019 gala by completing the online nomination form [[link removed]]. (Remember, this is only a nomination, and must be received no later than 5:00 pm on Tuesday, October 15.)

This year’s Conservative Leaders Gala [[link removed]] will be on Dec. 7, at the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas. RSVP today [[link removed]]!

Please join me in wishing a very happy birthday to my brother-in-law, Commander Torrey Bertheau! Number of the Day
