Donald Trump and unelected billionaire Elon Musk have taken an axe to government civil rights and equity programs – calling everything they don’t like DEI and ending federal initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the government.

But they didn’t stop there:

• Trump signed executive orders banning transgender and nonbinary people from serving in the armed forces and participating in girls’ and women’s sports;
• Words like gender, transgender, nonbinary, and anything having to do with racial justice have been purged from federal government websites;
• Google Calendar has followed suit and removed cultural events like Pride Month, Black History Month, Holocaust Remembrance Day, and more.

Make no mistake: This administration is using DEI as a catch-all to attack everyone’s civil rights, reward inequality, and ensure no one stands in the way of them making unlimited profits for their businesses and donors.

Fueled by the far-right’s white nationalism and corporate greed, the Trump-Musk administration wants to build a government that does not reflect America at the expense of everyday Americans.

We’re not going to let them get away with this bigotry without a fight. Justice Democrats is proud to have elected a diverse, working-class bloc of progressives in Congress who are uniting all communities against the corruption of this Trump administration.

But in order to build a country that truly represents and serves everyone, we have to build our people power in Congress.
