Dear SPUC supporter,
I am delighted to share with you SPUC's new petition calling for greater funding of hospice care in this country. It is alarming in itself that our politicians are currently debating assisted suicide proposals, but this is compounded when we think that they are doing so at a time when our country's hospices are grossly underfunded.
Don't just take my word for it though, Dr Dominic Whitehouse is a palliative care consultant, and he has the following to say about the situation:
"I am a palliative care consultant working in my local hospice. I am only too aware of the desperate situation of many hospices, where lack of funding means they are unable to deliver the level of care needed by the local community.
"I want to give my dying patients the very best care available, so that they can have a peaceful and dignified death."
Please sign our petition (below) calling on the Prime Minister to commit to long-term reform of hospice funding.

We have also prepared petition postcards that you can share in your churches or community centres. These can also be found at the above link.
Palliative care is undeniably the way forward, not assisted suicide.
With best wishes,
Michael Robinson
Executive Director
