John —
The Grand Canyon isn’t just a landmark. It’s sacred land to Arizona’s tribes. It protects our biodiversity, helps us fight climate change. It’s an essential part of our state and national history.
Last year, we celebrated the creation of Baaj Nwaavjo I’tah Kukveni – Ancestral Footprints of the Grand Canyon National Monument in Arizona, and the million acres it safeguards.
A week ago, Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum released a directive to the Department of the Interior to reassess Baaj Nwaavjo I’tah Kukveni and all other national monuments designated under the Antiquities Act — with the goal of opening them up for oil, gas, and mining speculation.
Today, I am calling on you to stand with me and defend our public lands.
Trump and his administration tried this the first time he was in the White House. We stopped them back then, and we can do the same now.
Thanks for stepping up,
Ruben
