At the 67th GRAMMY Awards, GLAAD gave music’s biggest names an opportunity to speak out on LGBTQ issues, standing strong for our community—especially transgender people—in the face of ongoing political attacks. In exclusive interviews with GLAAD on the red carpet with co-host and reality show icon, Chrishell Stause, Chappell Roan demanded of us all to protect trans joy and gave all the credit for her success to trans women. Doechii called for more gay artists in the industry, while The Harlem Gospel Travelers reflected on Black queer representation and being people of faith. Troye Sivan, Pentatonix’s Scott Hoying and Wayne Brady gave powerful messages of hope to LGBTQ youth and LGBTQ allies, Paris Hilton, Benson Boone, J. Balvin, Sheryl Crow, and Luis Fonsi shared their love and support for the LGBTQ community, with Kehlani proudly claimed, “I’m always for the gays.” GLAADs messages amassed tens of millions of views on social media, and were later shared by outlets like Billboard, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, INTO, HuffPost and more, sending a global message of support to queer people again and again. We are prepared, and we will come out of this administration stronger than ever.

We are not afraid. We are organized, passionate and strong. We continue to be joyful and thrive. And we are ready to defend ourselves, our families and our neighbors against baseless attacks, hateful rhetoric and whatever is to come. We are more resolute in our mission for equality than we ever have been. And we are certain that even more Americans will see the light and join us in the coming weeks and months.
