She dodged critical questions, downplayed concerns about the dismantling
of the Department of Education, and refused to push back against Trump’s
extreme education policies. McMahon’s record and testimony make one thing
clear: she is the wrong person to lead our nation’s schools.

Here’s what McMahon stands for – and why she’s a clear and present danger

❌ She will help Trump dismantle the Department of Education. Under Project
2025, Trump and his allies want to slash funding for public schools and
gut protections for students with disabilities, LGBTQ+ youth, and students
of color. McMahon made it clear she supports this radical plan, even
suggesting shifting key responsibilities to other agencies that are not
designed to protect students.

❌ She will funnel taxpayer money to private schools and religious
institutions. McMahon is a longtime supporter of expanding private school
voucher programs, which strip funding from public schools and send it to
unaccountable private and religious schools that can discriminate against
students. Voters across the country have rejected these schemes time and
again—but McMahon is ignoring them to push Trump’s privatization agenda.

❌ She refuses to stand up against book bans, curriculum censorship, and
attacks on teachers. McMahon dodged questions about state-level bans on
books, diversity programs, and LGBTQ+ student protections, proving that
she will do nothing to stop right-wing politicians from censoring history
and silencing educators.

If confirmed, McMahon will be a key figure in Trump’s war on public
education, empowering the same extremist forces that are banning books,
undermining teachers, and pushing propaganda into our classrooms and
communities.
