John, did you see my message yesterday?
John, House Republicans narrowly passed their far-right funding bill – which would undermine Medicaid and Social Security and do NOTHING to stop Trump and Musk's illegal cuts to our public services. [1]
We must act NOW to demand the Senate reject any funding legislation that gives Musk and Trump a blank check to shut down any part of the government they don't like. Contact your senators >>
It’s a simple demand, John: when Elon Musk is already taking money out of your pocket to make billionaires like him richer, Congress needs to do whatever it takes to stop him.
But instead of putting up guardrails to protect disaster relief, cancer research, and Social Security – congressional Republicans want to write the worst parts of Musk’s slash-and-burn agenda into law.
The good news is, they can’t do that on their own.
They will need 7 Senate Democrats to sign on to pass this far-right bill into law. That makes this funding bill the most important leverage point there is to STOP Elon Musk’s coup.
John, contact your senators today and demand they vote to defend our schools, our hospitals, and our Social Security from Elon Musk. Join me to speak out now >>
Our Constitution is clear: Congress controls the “power of the purse” and how our tax dollars are spent – not the president, and certainly not an unelected, unconfirmed billionaire like Elon Musk.
Musk is already trying to shut down our government, one mass firing or one shuttered agency at a time. We all pay the price when an unelected billionaire is allowed to fire federal workers and gut the healthcare, food assistance, and education programs that millions of Americans rely on.
Join me to tell the Senate: Treat this like the constitutional crisis it is. Don’t pass any funding legislation that gives Musk free rein to continue gutting our government.
Thanks for all you do,
