Dear John,

House Republicans narrowly passed the plan to advance Trump’s legislative agenda on Tuesday night. Here’s what you need to know about the bill, and why it’s so drastic.

-  It would extend Trump’s tax cuts and implement new ones - costing $4.5 trillion over the next decade.
-  It would raise the debt ceiling by $4 trillion over two years, and add $3 trillion to the federal deficit over 10 years.
-  They laid out a plan for $880 billion of spending cuts from the committee that funds Medicaid coverage.

Donald Trump is so focused on his efforts with DOGE and slashing the federal workforce, sometimes having to re-hire people they erroneously fired, that he isn’t in touch with the average American’s priorities. Prices haven’t gone down, tariffs are already affecting the average American, and Trump’s Republican party can barely get a bill passed.

We need all the help we need from people like you to stand up to the bullying and hypocrisy of this administration. It’s not going to be easy, but I always believe that fighting for what’s right is worth it. Are you with me?
