Yesterday, the House of Representatives passed a continuing resolution (CR) to keep the government open – but at what cost? Instead of preserving critical funding, Republicans have pushed through devastating cuts that disproportionately harm Black communities and working families while further enabling and empowering billionaires like Elon Musk.

This CR cuts $13 billion dollars which means less funding for housing, education and healthcare, more economic instability for Black families and an agenda that prioritizes the wealthy over everyday people.

Every dollar cut from social programs means another Black person loses out on housing, education, healthcare and other human necessities.

We must demand a clean CR that maintains full federal funding for vital programs.
