Leader Feature: Becky WongEver wonder who is behind the 250+ incredible trips Sierra Club Outings leads each year? We are excited to introduce you to the passionate folks who are the backbone of our program. This month, please meet Becky Wong!

[link removed]

Becky Wong has been leading trips with Sierra Club Outings since 2009, after discovering Sierra Club's service trips and volunteer opportunities. Her first trip was the "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" backpacking trip within the Navajo Nation. She fell in love with the scenery, the culture, and the fact that she could wake up in a dry tent every morning (something unheard of back home on Vancouver Island, Canada).

Since becoming a leader, Becky has led or participated in over 100 Sierra Club trips, her favorite destinations being Wyoming's Wind River Range and Nepal. What is the most gratifying part of being a leader? "The opportunity to connect participants with the outdoors. The total trip experience motivates them to take further action in protecting these natural places." She also loves to "see trip participants become leaders, so they can then continue to inspire others."

Thank you, Becky, for your service with Sierra Club Outings!
