Throughout Mental Health Awareness Month CLASP worked to #ReframeMentalHealth, beginning with a Twitter chat on May 6th.
New Publications
Throughout the month, we released three new briefs focused on improving mental health care for youth and young adults.
"Ten Core Competencies for Youth and Young Adult Centered Mental Health Systems" outlines core competencies for providing adolescent-focused health care, addressing existing gaps in youth- and adult-centered mental health systems.
"Unlocking Transformation and Healing: Overview of Policy Options for Accessible Youth and Young Adult Mental Healthcare" is the executive summary of our Unlocking Transformation and Healing brief series. This series overviews policy options for accessible youth and young adult mental health care. Throughout June, we will release three new briefs in the series on community-based care, confidentiality, and cost.
“Redefining Evidence-Based Practices: Expanding our View of Evidence” discusses the shortcomings of relying solely on Evidence-Based Practices, instead advocating for new standards of data-driven and community-informed program implementation and evaluation.

Dr. Irán Barrera, member of CLASP's Mental Health Advisory Board;
