Read my opinion in Ms. Magazine to learn why it matters

Dear John,
The Trump administration’s attempt to roll back reproductive rights and deny essential health care—detailed in a May 18 letter from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to the United Nations—is yet one more despicable action in a frightening trend of attempts to erase people’s rights.
Ipas strongly condemns the letter, which asks that all references to sexual and reproductive health be removed from the UN’s global humanitarian response plan. This would do nothing but hurt women and girls living in crisis settings who desperately need access to contraception and safe abortion. In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s imperative that these services remain essential—and we’re working hard with partners around the world to make this a reality.
In an opinion piece published in Ms. Magazine this week, I explain how this is just the latest instance of the Trump administration acting like an ideological bully—even as people around the world are at a breaking point. I invite you to read my piece and share widely with your networks.

In such a turbulent time with so much pressing news, it’s important we stay vigilant and ensure the full truth is known about this administration’s endless attacks on people’s rights.
