John,
It’s been another busy week in Washington, full of executive actions, key confirmations, and D.O.G.E. rooting out government waste, but I wanted to take a moment to update you on how we’re advancing our conservative values.
President Trump was right to withdraw the United States from the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). Employees of these organizations were inextricably involved in the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel, the deadliest assault on Jews since the Holocaust. For decades, UNRWA has trapped Palestinians in a cycle of permanent dependency, expanding the number of “refugees” instead of resettling them and fostering self-sufficiency. Worse, UNRWA doesn’t just enable Hamas; it houses terrorists, employs them, and allows its schools and facilities to be used as weapons depots and command centers. It has become an arm of Hamas, propping up a terrorist regime that exploits aid to wage war rather than seek peace. U.S. tax dollars should never fund organizations that support terrorism and undermine our allies.
The House Budget Committee passed a budget resolution this week that provides the framework for cutting at least $1.5 trillion dollars from our bloated federal budget over the next decade. While I believe there will be more opportunity to slash spending in the future, I recognize this is an important first step toward restoring fiscal sanity. This action allows us to work with President Trump to extend his historic 2017 tax cuts, ensuring families and small businesses keep more of their hard earned money instead of handing it over to an out-of-control bureaucracy. It also paves the way for additional cuts across every corner of the federal government, following President Trump and DOGE’s lead in rooting out waste, corruption and the overgrown administrative state. Needless to say, this is just the beginning. My colleagues and I will continue working with President Trump to pass his bold reforms, spending cuts and deliver on his America First agenda.
Governor Tim Walz has let fraud and corruption spiral out of control in Minnesota, and hardworking Minnesotans are paying the price. That’s why I joined Congressman Brad Finstad and Congressman Pete Stauber in sending a letter to President Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi, urging the administration to immediately appoint a new U.S. Attorney for Minnesota. Right now, our state is in crisis: hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars have been stolen, fraud investigations are piling up, and Walz’s administration has failed to act. The Feeding Our Future scandal alone saw $250 million in stolen funds, money meant to feed hungry children, instead used to buy luxury cars and mansions. On top of that, the Minnesota Department of Human Services is investigating 62 child care centers for fraud—all on Walz’s watch. He and his administration have proven they cannot be trusted. That’s why a strong, decisive U.S. attorney is needed to root out fraud, enforce the law, and ensure taxpayer dollars are protected.
As always, thank you for your continued trust and support. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need assistance with anything.
