Survival Sunday is a personal note and update for folks who are interested in being prepared. This message is only available for subscribers.
A PERSONAL NOTE
We are living in wild times. Never did I imagine that a new administration would turn things upside down to the extent we're seeing.
And I'm totally here for it.
So many Americans are beginning to see the light regarding government waste and straight-up money laundering of our tax dollars. And they're TICKED. Anyone with a lick of common sense would be, which obviously excludes the people losing their minds about it.
Why in the world is anyone worried about Elon Musk learning their personal information, for crying out loud? Gentle reminder: he used to own PayPal. He knows already. And he's the richest dude in the world. I sure hope he doesn't drain the $27 out of my bank account and go hog wild with it. Or use my social security number to open an account at HomeSense to redecorate his house. You guys, come on.
He isn't after us normies. He's after the folks who've been systematically stealing our money for decades. And hallelujah for that. It's about time.
We are living through historic times right now. I firmly believe this is the last chance to take our country back from the horrible road we've been going down for quite some time now.
I've been busy packing up in anticipation of a move fairly soon. I really look forward to being able to get out and about more, and rejoin the world. My cat is confused, but she really likes the giant stack of boxes in the corner of the room and sees them as a feline jungle gym.
I've been working hard on Haven Hill, my newest work of fiction. I cannot explain to you how much I adore writing fiction. It's something I've wanted to do since I was in 1st grade and wrote my first story based on Little House in the Big Woods.
I like to make my survival fiction a little different than most of the genre. There are plenty of folks out there killing it with the EMP stories and paramilitary groups. I wanted to demonstrate how our skills and what we learn through preparedness can help us - even save us - in situations that we didn't actually prep for. I like to create characters who aren't the normal former Green Beret or Navy Seal to show that those folks are not the only ones who can survive. I also love adding suspense, which is my favorite genre to read.
We're anticipating heavy snowfall this coming week, though I'm not sure what "heavy snowfall" looks like in Eastern North Carolina. I. look forward to it - I kinda miss the snow, though my gimpy self has no interest in being outside hobbling around in it. I'll enjoy it from my window, thanks.
I hope that you have a wonderful week ahead, friends. I hope that history continues to be made and that the view out your window is beautiful.
Stay safe and happy!
Daisy
