STOP WORK ORDER: In Gaza, 50,000 pregnant women, already struggling to access basic necessities, face losing critical care as UNFPA’s mobile health teams are going to be forced to halt operations.
This is the wrong time to be scaling back our lifesaving work in Gaza. Will you rush a donation right now to sustain programs for women, girls, pregnant mothers, and infants? [[link removed]?]

Two days from now will mark 500 days of crisis in Gaza. A year and a half since conflict erupted, the humanitarian crisis remains dire.

Only 16 of Gaza’s 36 hospitals are operational. Over half of Gaza’s buildings — most being homes and schools — have been damaged or completely destroyed, and an estimated 1.9 million people remain internally displaced. That’s 90% of Gaza’s population left without adequate shelter for the winter.

Displaced women and girls in overcrowded shelters and at aid distribution points are among the most vulnerable. Violence against women and exploitation are reported to be rising steeply in the wake of 15 months of conflict.

In response, UNFPA has scaled up its humanitarian operations to deliver mental health interventions and lifesaving care for women and girls. In January alone, UNFPA provided services to over 66,500 people in Gaza, supplied essential medical equipment, and supported 12 hospitals.

Needs remain urgent for the 1 million women and girls in Gaza. UNFPA is doing everything in our power to reach them with essential services, but to sustain our efforts, we’re depending on donors like you. As we approach 500 days of crisis, will you make a lifesaving gift today? [[link removed]?]

We condemn the violence in Lebanon, Gaza, the West Bank, and Israel, and hope for a sustained humanitarian ceasefire, the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages by Hamas, and an end to the violence. The suffering must end and peace must prevail.

Thank you for being there for women and girls.
