John,

Climate fueled-disasters have caused the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) flood insurance program to run out of money.

This program, which covers most flood insurance policies, just had to borrow $2 billion to cover payments for Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Trump’s response? Threatening to cut FEMA funding in its entirety.

Climate disasters can happen anytime and anywhere — and the stability of families and communities around the country depend on FEMA. Our SEEC climate champions are the ones fighting for FEMA and disaster relief funding in Congress. Will you rush a donation today to power their work? [[link removed]]

FEMA plays a critical role in our disaster support, saving countless lives and rebuilding livelihoods since its inception. As hurricanes, floods, and wildfires only grow in intensity and number as a result of man-made climate change, more funding is needed, not less.

But Trump doesn’t care about ordinary Americans struggling in the wake of a natural disaster — that’s why he’s attacking such a vital mainstay of our disaster response networks. He and his MAGA administration don’t even want to acknowledge the disasters occurring right in front of our very eyes — let alone respond to them.

But the truth is, disasters are growing worse every single year, and we need to fund climate adaptation — not defund it. We cannot have a two-tier system of haves and have-nots. Trump and his cronies want a world where only the wealthy can be insured against disasters, while the average American will have their world turned upside down.

Will you help us elect climate champions to Congress who will ensure that all Americans will be protected from natural disasters, and not just the ultra wealthy? [[link removed]]
