Friend, George Floyd, like the too many innocent people of color before him, should be alive today. Racism is alive and well in our district, our state, and country, and events like the death of George Floyd remind us that we must do our part to dismantle racism at every chance we get. Yesterday, our Field Director, Emilia, joined hundreds of people in Cape Girardeau to demand justice for George Floyd, Nina Pop, Breonna Taylor, and the countless other people of color who should still be alive today. It’s remarkable to see the 8th District community stand up for justice, and we’re so grateful for those who organized the protest.
