As you know, I have tried to keep the fundraising emails to a minimum since the last election, but today I am asking you to split a contribution between the Michigan Senate Nominee Fund and my campaign.
Here's why:
Earlier this week, Michigan's other Democratic senator, Gary Peters, announced that he would not run for re-election.
On a personal note, Gary is a mentor and dear friend who has gone out of his way to help me and get my office up-and-running over the last few months. He will be greatly missed around the Senate.
But his decision means Michigan will once again have one of the most expensive and competitive Senate races in the country.
But that is not all. Not even close.
Michigan will also have an open seat race for governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, and if that were not enough already several U.S. House seats that could determine control of the House after the next election.
It's a lot.
After winning Michigan in the presidential election and coming very close in our race, Republicans will throw everything they can to try and sweep the board here. Control of the House, the Senate, and the swingiest of swing states is up-for-grabs.
Your contribution to the Michigan Senate Nominee Fund will go to whoever wins the Democratic Primary for U.S. Senate, putting them in a strong position the day they are officially the nominee.
You know I don't like to ask often, but this is a big moment:
Can you please use this link to split a $10 contribution between the Michigan Senate Nominee Fund and my re-election campaign today?
