Indivisibles,

Over the past month, Indivisibles have been busy: holding demonstrations
at Congressional offices, flooding Capitol Hill with calls and emails,
peacefully protesting outside Tesla dealerships, and showing up to town
halls in red, blue, and purple districts.

This is what a real, grassroots opposition looks like. That opposition
brings good attention: hundreds of thousands of new folks on our email
list (if that’s you, hi), hundreds of new Indivisible groups formed in all
50 states, and SO many people using our toolkits to organize locally.

But good resistance is also intended to get the attention of those we’re
resisting -- and it has.

* Over the past few weeks, Elon Musk has repeatedly attacked Indivisible
and our supporters on his floundering social media platform,
particularly angry (as you’d expect) about activists protesting at
Tesla dealerships.
* Then, Monday night on Fox, Jesse Watters accused us of “domestic
terror” (conflating our peaceful protests with unrelated acts of
vandalism) and urged FBI Director Kash Patel to investigate us. His
guest, Senator Josh Hawley, seemed to agree.
* Finally, the right-wing media firestorm bubbled up to Trump, who said
violence against Tesla (???) should be designated as domestic terror.

We don’t know if Trump will act on that ridiculous proclamation, if Patel
will launch a sham investigation into Indivisible and our allies, or what
further threats will result from Elon Musk’s attacks against us. We do
know this: It’s all intended to chill dissent.

This administration is using all the tools at its disposal -- from Musk’s
endless war chest, to the unofficial state media (Fox), to the deployment
of ICE against student protesters, to loony presidential proclamations
about domestic terror -- to strike fear into anyone who would defy them.

But we will not cower. Fascists win when we voluntarily cede our power and
we’ve got bad news for Elon Musk and his vassal in the White House: Our
movement’s power is only growing.

This is the moment to step up in defiance, not step back in fear. While
Musk and Trump try to dismantle our democracy, and Republicans work to
slash our public services to shovel more wealth and power to billionaires,
we’ve all got to fight as hard as we can, as long as we can, to defeat
them.

 1. [ [link removed] ]Read our Musk or Us toolkit and show up to put pressure on
Congress. The next congressional recess starts on Saturday. This will
be a critical moment for building public opposition to the Trump-Musk
coup and holding Republicans accountable for their complicity in it.
Read through the toolkit, find out how to plan or [ [link removed] ]join an event,
and get ready for the recess.
 2. [ [link removed] ]Join or start a local Indivisible group. Resisting authoritarianism
is a group project. At the core of our movement are local groups made
up of ordinary people who care about democracy and are willing to
defend it. Find your group today -- or consider starting one.
 3. [ [link removed] ]Donate to support this movement. While Elon Musk has been trying to
stoke conspiracy theories on X (who funds this shadowy Indivisible
group?), the truth is, small-dollar grassroots donations are our
single largest source of funding. As the attacks on us mount, we hope
you’ll stand with us and help us continue to defy these wannabe
authoritarians every step of the way.

As much as Trump and Musk want to intimidate and threaten us into being
silent, the decision to keep fighting is ours to make. Whatever way you
choose to take action -- planning a town hall, joining a group, or
pitching in to support your fellow Indivisibles -- we’re proud to be
fighting alongside you.

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
