Folks —

On Monday, we joined local organizers at the West Virginia State Capitol as part of Black Policy Day — an amazing organizing event led by one of our partners, WV Black Voter Impact Initiative!

Black Policy Day is much more than a single-day gathering, it represents a powerful movement that fosters united communities that can address policy issues affecting Black communities in West Virginia.

For far too long, Black voters have been ignored, overlooked, and taken for granted by people in power.

That’s why WV Black Voter Impact hosts this annual event — to organize around important issues and bridge the gap between community members and elected officials.

Their 2025 roadmap to a thriving West Virginia includes passing the CROWN Act, a bill that would protect people from race-based hair discrimination, as well as creating a state Child Tax Credit and increasing funding for childcare development.

We’re putting these issues on lawmakers’ radars, and thanks to this grassroots team, we’re able to support partners like WV Black Voter Impact Initiative who rally for policy change to make a difference at the local level. Can you chip in $10 today to help us expand our reach even further?
