Reuters: Trump says violence against Tesla is domestic terrorism [[link removed]]
John: Ignore the Teslas on the south lawn of the White House and pay attention to the words.
Why? When we called out a frightening bill, last known as H.R. 9495, that already passed the House and would give President Donald Trump broad powers to target his political foes, a lot of our supporters replied that the bill would only truly apply to terrorist groups and that we were overreacting.
Well, yesterday, right outside the White House, President Trump said people vandalizing Tesla brand cars would be branded domestic terrorists and "go through hell." We're not condoning vandalism, but it shows how quickly and abruptly Donald Trump will escalate against people he sees as his opponents.
So we ask again -- what would stop President Trump from doing the same to nonprofits like ours? We have to defend the freedom of speech and our right to protest wrongs against us.
John, pitch in with $25 or whatever you can today to stop Congress from passing this bill and silencing our right to protest >> [[link removed]]

To refresh your memory, this so-called "nonprofit killer" bill would empower the Treasury secretary to unilaterally designate any nonprofit as a “terrorist supporting organization” and revoke its tax-exempt status, effectively killing the group. The bill could give presidential administrations a tool to crack down on organizations for political reasons.
“ Authoritarianism is not born overnight — it creeps in ,” Rep. Lloyd Doggett said on the House floor. “ A tyrant tightens his grip not just by seizing power, but when he demands new powers and when those who can stop him willingly cede and bend to his will .”
“ A sixth grader would know this is unconstitutional ,” added Rep. Jamie Raskin.
Unconstitutional and authoritarian or not, this bill has passed the House once and has a good chance of passing both houses of Congress now that opponents of voting rights have total control of our government. That's why we're working now to prevent this bill from ever becoming law.
Will you chip in $25 or whatever you can right now to help us stop this bill and protect the ability of people-powered groups to advocate for our rights? We need every supporter of voting rights with us >> [[link removed]]

Integrity First Voter Action Project is dedicated to expanding ballot access and increasing voter participation across the country.
Since the Supreme Court gutted key provisions in the Voting Rights Act, extreme politicians have taken advantage to pass harsh laws that restrict access to the ballot box. These restrictions particularly affect disadvantaged communities and people of color. It’s our goal to bring awareness to these laws wherever they may crop up and organize voters to take action to ensure the right to vote is available to everyone in their states and communities.
