The Global Days of Action on Tax Justice for Women’s Rights 2025 Launches

Read along for the 2025 GDOA demands, an overview of the upcoming campaign events, and highlights from the launch event.

** Amplify the GDOA Demands
------------------------------------------------------------

Join the campaign for Progressive Taxation for an Inclusive and Just Social Organisation of Care during this 9th edition of GATJ’s Global Days of Action on Tax Justice for Women's Rights. From now until the 21st of March, take part in our demand to #MakeTaxesWorkForWomen and for #ProgressiveTax4Care.

Maureen Mburu, GATJ Tax and Gender Lead & Africa Campaigns Coordinator, explains why GATJ, our members, and partners are launching this campaign and the importance of our shared demands here ([link removed]) .

Continue amplifying our shared demands! Each day this week, we are spotlighting a demand from our campaign. This began with highlighting demand 1 on Monday and will conclude with demand 5 on Friday. Each day, we will amplify a new blog post, with the first three linked below. These demands include:
1. Progressive taxation for a gender-transformative social organisation of care ([link removed])
2. Incorporate gender-transformative provisions into the UN Tax Convention ([link removed])
3. Increase public investment in care public systems ([link removed])
4. Acknowledge and value unpaid care work in economic systems
5. Ensure gender equality in tax systems and public services

How to get involved?

About GATJ
The Global Alliance for Tax Justice (GATJ) is a South-led global coalition in the tax justice movement. Together we work for a world where progressive and redistributive tax policies counteract inequalities within and between countries, and generate the public funding needed to ensure essential services and human rights.

GATJ coordinates the Tax and Gender Working Group (TGWG), a collective of women’s rights organisations, global trade unions, international non-governmental organisations, and civil society organisations working together to link tax and gender justice.
