With pride and gratitude, I wanted to let you know that we exceeded our May fundraising goal, thanks to the help of dozens of supporters who believe that Suffolk County families deserve a leader who will put people above special interests, listen to the science, and lead with the facts.

If you gave ahead of last night’s benchmark: thank you for investing in my team and supporting my campaign for Congress in NY-01. We couldn’t share my story and reach the voters we need to win without you.

When we launched this campaign in July, my team and I knew one of our toughest challenges would be increasing my name ID with the voters we need to win. Thanks to the support of thousands, we launched several direct mail pieces, filmed and produced two ads, saturated the New York media market with our message, and rolled out an aggressive voter contact strategy. Now, we’re three weeks out from the primary -- and we’ve still got tens of thousands of voters to reach.

Our message of facts and evidence resonates with voters in Suffolk County. In the absence of leaders who listen to the science and the experts, voters are ready for a representative who will fight for them.

On a recent walk with my husband, two constituents recognized me from our communications, and we started talking together about the issues that were important to them. I was thrilled to speak with them (from a safe distance of course). Because we have had to cancel all in-person events, it’s been challenging to meet with voters personally. I am grateful for moments like this one that gave me the chance to learn more about just a couple of people I will represent. We only had a short conversation, but in a small way, it confirmed that the strategy my team and I built is working.

Hitting our May benchmark was critical, and now we need to build on that success. In the next 22 days, we need to hit Wednesday’s FEC goal, increase our spending, and run an airtight strategy to ensure we don’t fall short on our voter contact goals

A lot can happen between now and then, but I’m grateful to have you as a member of this team.
