This shouldn’t be happening in America.

John,

The maternal health crisis in America is an urgent moral failure. The U.S. has the highest maternal mortality rate among developed nations — and it’s only getting worse.

These rates are simply unacceptable, and for many groups, they are even worse. Black mothers are three to four times more likely than white mothers to die from pregnancy-related complications. Indigenous mothers face similarly devastating disparities. And in states that have restricted access to reproductive care, maternal mortality rates are rising even faster.

I’ve fought for years to address this crisis — introducing the Momnibus Act and pushing for policies that expand access to care, invest in community-based solutions, and tackle the systemic inequities putting Black mothers at risk. But I know we need to do more.

That’s why I’m continuing this fight in the Senate. And I need you by my side.

Will you add your name to demand urgent action to address the Black maternal health crisis?
