Hi John,
On April 1, voters in Wisconsin will head to the polls to elect a new Justice to the State Supreme Court. The outcome of this election will determine the balance of the court and whether or not we retain a pro-democracy, pro-conservation majority.
With outside money pouring in from the likes of Elon Musk and other Trump allies, you’re probably seeing a ton of ads supporting Brad Schimel and bashing our endorsed candidate, Judge Susan Crawford. A lot of these ads are misleading and quite frankly ridiculous.
It can be hard to cut through the noise to get the facts. When it comes to Brad Schimel, there’s no question about how he would rule on cases dealing with protecting our environment. He has a clear record and legacy that proves he will not be a fair and impartial Justice on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
As Attorney General during Scott Walker’s second term as Governor, Brad Schimel led Wisconsin’s Department of Justice, which includes the Environmental Protection Unit. Time after time, he let corporate polluters off the hook, especially when they donated to his campaigns.
We sat down with Tom Dawson, who worked with Democrat and Republican Attorneys General at Wisconsin’s Department of Justice as the head of the Environmental Protection Unit to hear from him what it was like working with Brad Schimel.
