In Colorado’s 8th District, Republican freshman Gabe Evans voted to support the House GOP budget plan that would slash funding for Medicaid, doing Trump’s bidding and being a “yes man” for Speaker Johnson. Nearly a quarter of his constituents rely on Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program to receive healthcare.
Instead of sticking up for the needs of his constituents, Evans chose to kowtow to Trump and vote for a bill that will raise costs for most working Americans, cut their access to healthcare, and make their lives markedly harder, all to cut taxes for the wealthiest Americans.

Here’s our Chair Shad Murib’s take on Evans’ vote: “The district is the heartland of America [...] You’ve got farms and ranches. You’ve got energy producers. You’ve got hardworking Coloradans who too often see the government fail them. And with Gabe Evans, they were hoping that they would find somebody who might champion them. Unfortunately, he sold them a bad deal because so far he’s done nothing but support Donald Trump.”
We’re planning voter outreach events across the district to let Gabe know that his betrayal of his constituents will not be forgotten, but we need your help.
