John, the NDRC is tracking two must-win upcoming elections that will decide control of two critical bodies of government. And one of them is today .

In Minnesota, voters are casting their ballots right now in the special election for State House District 40B. This race will decide whether Republicans maintain control of the Minnesota House, where they’ve pushed an extreme agenda of trying to slash support for the working class while cutting taxes for the wealthy.

We’ve endorsed Democracy Defender David Gottfried, and it’s all hands on deck until the polls close.

Then, in exactly three weeks, Wisconsin voters will decide control of the state supreme court in what The Washington Post says is likely to be the “most expensive state court race in U.S. history.” Groups connected to Elon Musk, the richest person in the world, are flooding the race with millions of dollars in ads.

The NDRC’s endorsed candidate, Judge Susan Crawford, is now up against the deep pockets of the far right. But we’re confident she can win with strong grassroots support.

Both of these races will have serious implications for fair maps, free elections, and our fundamental freedoms. And later this year, voters will head to the polls in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Virginia for additional critical elections.
