Team,
As markets start to tank from Trump’s reckless 25% tariffs on products from Canada and Mexico, the real plan behind this right wing plot to wreck our government is becoming clearer.
Is this what Trump and Musk meant when they said that Americans will have to “endure hardship” as they dismantle our government and consolidate power solely in Trump’s hands?

The Atlanta Federal Reserve’s GDP forecast just predicted a -3% GDP growth this quarter based on Trump’s steep tariffs on China, Canada, and Mexico. Does a crippling recession “Make America Great Again”?

The calamity that will follow all of this is going to be very bad, and we will need each other, our communities, and our families more than ever.
But there is an upshot to this disaster: we are actually in the midst of three special elections that could flip control of the U.S. House of Representatives and empower Democrats to slam the brakes on Trump’s thrashing of the economy.
If you are worried about making economic pain into a partisan political topic, please don’t: this is already political. The cost of food and necessities is political. Good jobs that pay well and treat people with dignity—as political as it gets.
These are the exact sorts of news cycles that wake up normally non-political voters and force them to pay attention. And we need to be ready to greet them with a positive message and a chance to take action to fix Trump’s mess.
I know we ask a lot, but this is exactly why it is so important that we never let up. Voters are going to get angrier and angrier about Trump’s wrecking of our economy—we can win if we talk to them right now. Can you chip in any amount -- split with iVote Fund -- to help us do this? iVote was created in 2014 with one goal: secure voting rights for all Americans.
Rather than take on challenges in the court after unfair laws have passed, iVote plays defense on voter suppression efforts AND goes on offense to secure and expand access to voting.
Going on offense is critical. We have the chance to elect Secretaries of State that will protect our elections for years to come. But Republicans are already suppressing and blocking certain citizens from exercising their fundamental right to vote.

We need a massive coalition to register new voters and protect our right to vote in this election and beyond.
We know you get a lot of emails, but it's only because this fight is so important. We need you to stick with us long term. But if you must go, you can unsubscribe.
