If your last couple of months have been anything like mine, then you’ve felt a mix of outrage, fear, sadness and even helplessness. The universe seems flipped upside down with Trump and Netanyahu dragging us in the wrong direction. If you’re like me, you’ve questioned what you can do for America, with Trump’s minions controlling both chambers of Congress – and for Israel, as someone who is not an Israeli citizen.
The good news is that we’re not powerless. We do have an opportunity, right now, to directly influence decisions being made for Israel and on behalf of Jews around the world. Voting just started yesterday for the World Zionist Congress election, so please take two minutes and vote for the HATIKVAH slate.
J Street is proud to endorse the Hatikvah slate in the 2025 World Zionist Congress election. Hatikvah is a broad coalition of liberal and progressive American Jews striving to fully actualize an Israel living up to the values stated in its Declaration of Independence. It’s a way to make sure that the leadership and allocated funds for groups like the World Zionist Organization, the Jewish Agency for Israel, and the Jewish National Fund reflect our pro-Israel, pro-peace, pro-democracy priorities.
If you care about blocking settlement expansion in the West Bank, preserving Israeli democracy, and ensuring that all of Israel’s citizens have full social and political equality, then please vote now for HATIKVAH in the WZC election.
The WZC helps direct $5 billion in funds every five years. Those funds can either go toward advancing the extreme Trump-Netanyahu-Ben Gvir-Smotrich agenda by further entrenching the occupation and undermining Israeli democracy, or it can go toward Jewish-Arab coexistence projects, LGBTQ+ equality, and pro-democracy initiatives.
The choice is yours!
Ultra-orthodox right-wing slates have a drastically different vision for Israel, and they have plans to turn out 100,000 votes in this election.
The good news is that we know our movement and those aligned with the Hatikvah slate greatly outnumber our opponents. We just have to show up and vote. If we do that, we’ll win.
So please take just a moment to vote now for the Hatikvah slate in the World Zionist Congress election to create real change.
And when you’re done, forward this email to your family and friends to encourage them to vote, too!
We only have a brief window to get out the vote and show that the majority of American Jews support our pro-Israel, pro-peace, pro-democracy agenda and an Israel that lives up to the values enshrined in its Declaration of Independence.
