FUNDING UPDATE: The U.S. government has terminated all funding agreements for UNFPA, the United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency. The impact that this will have on the women and girls we serve will be devastating.

Will you rush an emergency donation right now to sustain programs for women, girls, pregnant mothers, and infants?

UN News confirmed a devastating milestone in the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Haiti:

Over one million people have been displaced by gang violence.

Displacement has a disproportionate effect on women and children, with sexual violence involving children — girls facing an even greater risk — increasing 1,000-fold in Haiti over the last year.

The increase in gang violence, humanitarian access restrictions, and underfunding of interventions have limited the scope of UNFPA’s response. Despite these obstacles, we have intensified our efforts to implement solutions that are tailored to meet the urgent needs of women and girls in Haiti:

  • 107 mobile clinics were deployed, providing vital services to over 41,000 people in Port-au-Prince's metropolitan areas.
  • Nearly 26,500 individuals were educated about available services for preventing and responding to GBV.
  • 24 health facilities were supplied with reproductive health kits and clinical management kits for rape survivors.
  • Over 3,900 women and girls received mental health support and accessed dedicated safe spaces.

But sadly, the Trump Administration has terminated all funding grants for UNFPA’s lifesaving work, including gender-based violence services for vulnerable women and girls in Port-au-Prince.

We are doing everything we can to continue providing women and girls in Haiti with essential sexual and reproductive health care. Will you help fill the funding gap left by the U.S. government and ensure lifesaving care can continue to reach women and girls in Haiti and wherever support is needed most?
