That’s why we’re excited to announce openRxiv, a new independent nonprofit created in partnership with Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory to support bioRxiv and medRxiv, the world’s leading preprint servers for life and health sciences. Preprints, or scientific papers shared prior to peer review, accelerate the pace of scientific discovery across the globe by enabling scientists to vet results and improve research quickly, easily, and in the open.

The creation of openRxiv ensures the preprint servers remain free, researcher-led, and independent while enabling greater financial stability, operational growth, and international reach.
