The arrest and detainment of Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian activist who helped lead the protests at Columbia University as a graduate student last year, is utterly outrageous and un-American.
We must call this what it is: forced disappearance for nothing more than constitutionally protected speech. It is a clear assault on First Amendment rights.

The Trump Administration wants to target anyone who takes part in pro-Palestinian organizing — claiming that is anti-semitic or pro-Hamas.
This is an early step in trying to quash and silence dissent. If they can make people too afraid to speak up or protest, just imagine what they will be able to get away with.
They want government workers to be too afraid to blow the whistle. They want universities to fear that their funding is on the line if they do not fall in line. They want Mahmoud Khalil must be released and allowed due process.
