TAKE ACTION: Tell Congress to REJECT the Musk budget >>
John, if we don’t act immediately, our elected representatives in Congress are going to hand President Trump and Elon Musk a blank check to shut down any part of the government they don’t like.
The bill the House will vote on today is a far-right wish list that would endanger Medicaid and Social Security, slash funding for election security, boost funding for Trump’s inhumane deportations, and do nothing to stop Trump and Musk’s illegal cuts to the crucial lifelines Americans depend on. [1]
Our Constitution is clear: Congress controls the “power of the purse” and how our tax dollars are spent – not the president, and certainly not an unelected, unconfirmed billionaire like Elon Musk.
John, contact your representative today and demand they vote to defend our schools, our hospitals, and our Social Security from Elon Musk. Join me to speak out now >>
It’s a simple demand, John: when Elon Musk is already taking money out of your pocket to make billionaires like him richer, Congress needs to do whatever it takes to stop him.
But instead of putting up guardrails to protect disaster relief, cancer research, and Social Security – congressional Republicans want to write the worst parts of Musk’s slash-and-burn agenda into law.
The good news is, they can’t do that on their own. They have a razor-thin House majority and will need 7 Senate Democrats to sign on to pass this far-right bill into law.
That makes this funding bill the most important leverage point there is to STOP Elon Musk’s coup.
Musk is already trying to shut down our government, one mass firing or one shuttered agency at a time. We all pay the price when an unelected billionaire is allowed to fire federal workers and gut the healthcare, food assistance, and education programs that millions of Americans rely on.
Join me to tell Congress: Treat this like the constitutional crisis it is. Don’t pass any funding legislation that gives Musk free reign to continue gutting our government.
Thanks for all you do,
