FEMA Programs Offer Added Assistance for People with Disabilities
Recent updates from FEMA and the State of California provide disaster support by increasing accessibility and eligibility for affected people, families and communities.
These changes, across FEMA's suite of services [ [link removed] ], can help people with disabilities. Notably:
* Displacement Assistance funding can help pay for accessible accommodations
* Funding can be used to make rebuilt homes more accessible than before without counting against the maximum federal assistance amount
* Verification requirements are lowered for people seeking temporary housing options, including those with disabilities.
