Donald Trump spent the entire campaign blaming President Biden for high prices and now he's driving us headfirst into a trade war. It’s actually ludicrous.
A 25% tariff on all imports from Canada and Mexico will be catastrophic for Valley communities.
First off, we simply can't afford any more price increases, full stop.
And second, in an agricultural community like mine, crop exports are the lifeblood of our economy. If we can’t sell our cherries or almonds or grapes to our allies, our local economy crumbles and the jobs disappear.
The stock market is already taking a major blow and now, economists are even discussing a possible U.S. recession.
What does this mean for you? The things we buy (like gas, cars, homes, and food) are going to get much more expensive than they already are.
Look, John. This is really scary. It frustrates me that working-class families who are already struggling to make ends meet are going to have to tighten their belts even more.
In Trump’s America, the rich are getting richer while the rest of us are falling behind. We deserve better and it’s up to us to fight back.
