Hello John,

Last week, we welcomed leadership from across the country to talk about their organizing for Energy Democracy, and the pathways to getting involved in 2025. Find the recording, all of the links shared during our conversation, and speaker bios here ([link removed]) .

We discussed this year's challenges: federal policies aiming to disband our movement and threaten the safety of our people, climate crises, and ongoing extraction. We also affirmed that a different future is possible: one where our communities across race, class, gender, and geography have what we need to stay resilient, year after year. Our speakers showcased how, together, we can an energy system that works for all of us, not just the wealthy few at the top.

2025 opens the door for opportunities for everyday people, just like you and me, to shift power from Wall Street and profit-driven power companies to communities so that we can make our homes places where we all breathe clean air, drink safe water, and live a good life. The Energy Democracy movement is growing....we're glad you're here!

This learning and action lab is designed to mobilize supportive organizations and rural electric cooperative (REC) member-owners to reclaim their RECs to spread democracy, improve people’s lives, and act on the climate crisis.

This year, we're not slowing down. We know that it's greedy CEOs and politicians who continue to make dangerous decisions in the name of power and profit. We also know that putting power back in the hands of the people is the way forward: by continuing to organize to make sure that our communities--especially low-income, Black, Brown and Indigenous communities–are prioritized in reimagined futures, we can begin to repair the harm of decades of environmental racism, and provide safe, clean, and local energy to everyone.

Thanks for joining us on this path.
Power to the people!
