Today we're launching our traditional campaign 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟭𝘀𝘁, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. This year's theme is ✊𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗺 - 𝗟𝗲𝘁'𝘀 𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗜𝘁!

Considering the current world scenario, shifting everyday with the total subversion of many fundamental values and after our Meet-Up on February 20th, we decided it's time to reclaim our activist words. 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗰𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 “𝘄𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗶𝘀𝗺” 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 : 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝘀
We’re witnessing the same hate in new disguises. Racist and xenophobic movements are hijacking the language of freedom and victimhood to fuel division and advance their agendas. But here’s the truth: 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗺.
It’s time to resist this narrative. Let’s reclaim activist words and refocus them on #justice , #equality , and #unity. Together, we can dismantle harmful ideologies and build a society rooted in understanding—not fear. So keep following the campaign on all our social media accounts to find out what we can do to resist this tendency and let us know if you have any plan for this year's Action!

Global Action Against Racism and Fascism

Also this year we share the Call for a Global Day of Action Against Racism and Fascism, in towns and cities around the world, in both the global north and south, which will happen on and around Saturday, 22 March 2025, for UN Antiracism Day. The call is organised by World vs Racism and every organisation can read and sign the call here

UNITED at ENAR's Regional Meeting in Brussels

On February 27-28th our Director Philip Pollak attended European Network Against Racism - ENAR regional meeting, which brought together representatives from across Europe to address key challenges and opportunities in the nonprofit sector working on #antiracism. This gathering was part of their ongoing effort to provide a collaborative platform for members to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and network.
During the meeting, participants focused on:

🔸Addressing Regional Challenges: They delved into the specific hurdles faced by membership-led organizations operating at the EU level, particularly those navigating unique regional frameworks.
🔸EU Grant Preparation: Members strategized for upcoming EU grant calls, exploring ways to collaborate on proposals and secure funding.
🔸Strengthening EU Advocacy: The meeting provided a valuable space for discussing strategies to enhance advocacy work within the EU landscape, helping members navigate institutions more effectively.

This meeting marked an important step in fostering a stronger, more connected community. We’re grateful for the engagement and look forward to continuing this momentum with fellow members, specially considering the current challenges, in Europe and worldwide.

News from the Network: Call for Participants: Youth Empowerment for Peace - Media & Peacebuilding Training in Budapest

We're supporting our Network member Subjective Values Foundation  for the Youth Empowerment for Peace Project, (with support from the European Youth Foundation), which is hosting a five-day intensive training camp in Budapest from May 19-24, 2025.

Who Can Apply?
People who:
• Are under 30 years old.
• Study or work in media-related fields (e.g., journalism, communications, media production).
• Have an interest in peacebuilding and intercultural dialogue.
Key Details:
• Participation is free, with accommodation and meals covered.
• International travel costs must be self-funded (financial assistance may be available).
What’s in it for You?
This transformative experience will equip participants with skills in:
• Conflict resolution through non-violent communication and mediation.
• Intercultural dialogue, exploring how media can foster cultural understanding.
• Creative media production, including articles, short films, and projects for peacebuilding.

Remembering 3 years of war in Ukraine and International Women's Day

On February 24th we remembered that three years of war have left millions displaced and countless lives lost on both sides and we called for a fair and just peace, which will respect international law and the rights of the people.
Recent developments in the U.S. and Europe highlight the need for continued vigilance in defending democracy and human rights.
This reminds all of us the importance of civil society and youth participation in democracy. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱.
Us at UNITED feel extremely grateful for our Network, especially in such times, because it incites us to challenge ourselves and to move forward. During our Meet-Up on February 20th we got reminded of our priorities: 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘀.
For this reason we invite you all to join us in action. Our Campaign Against Racism is coming up and we’ll need everybody to build a world where democracy and peace thrive for everyone.

With the same spirit we also marked March 8th, to repeat once again that the fight for gender equality is not just a women’s issue—it’s a call to action for everyone.
