Coronavirus recession will impact us all

Together we can help the UK avoid making it worse

The report I sent you yesterday set out clearly the damage that would be caused by rushing negotiations with the EU. Did you have a chance to see it? 

If we do nothing we could end this year in a massive Coronavirus recession at the same time as abandoning all the UK's trading relationships with other countries. British businesses would feel the effects immediately - job losses would likely follow.

We have to agree an extension to the Brexit transition period before the 30th June. If we miss that deadline Britain will face a failed or rushed trade deal.

Best for Britain commissioned yesterday's report from the independent charity the Social Market Foundation. We hope it will inform and educate decision makers about the risks. We hope to persuade MPs and the government we need to extend transition to give us all more time.

Best for Britain is the only campaign organisation making this case with MPs right now. No other organisation is doing the same research, polling, lobbying and campaigning.

We need your help to make sure we can do everything that is needed. Commissioning well-researched reports and accurate polling, getting the messages into the press and onto the desks of MPs, running a campaign across the UK all costs money.
