If Democrats are going to effectively fight back against Donald Trump, we need a three-pronged approach.
Hi John, it's Pramila Jayapal.
If Democrats are going to effectively fight back against Donald Trump, we need a three-pronged approach:
- We have to use every power we have in Congress. We may not have the votes to move bills, but we can absolutely use our platform to call out and shine a light on abuses of power.
- We have to fight back in the courts. This work has been underway since the moment Trump took office, and we’ve already won some important victories on things like the birthright citizenship executive order.
- We have to embrace inside-outside organizing. That means training people for nonviolent resistance, preparing for potential strikes, and getting ready to seize the moment when we can have a giant coordinated movement to protest the destruction of our democracy.
If you're with me in this fight, will you pitch in $3 to support my work — both inside and outside of Congress — today?
Right now Democrats are working to fight back in Congress and in the courts.
But in a situation where an authoritarian dictator refuses to listen to court orders, our last recourse will be nonviolent resistance in the streets.
That’s why my campaign is getting ready to host nonviolent resistance trainings both virtually and in-person, to ensure everyone has the tools they need to speak up and fight back.
But none of this work would be possible without your support, John. Your grassroots donations enable me to keep up the fight in Congress and enable my campaign to organize year-round — and I’m counting on you now as much as ever to keep going.
So if you can, please pitch in $3 or any amount that works for you today.

Thank you, John. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but together we can grow our progressive movement, put a stop to MAGA's authoritarianism, and finally build a government that serves all the people.
In solidarity,
Pramila Jayapal
