Hi Everyone!

It has been a while since we've done a weekly alert, but now is a good time to start again! We wanted you to be aware of actions you can take this week to help save our democracy. As a chapter of Indivisible, we promote the recommended actions of national Indivisible as well as raise awareness about other activities you can do at the national, state, and local level.

It’s too bad we find ourselves in this place, but here we are again, and we need your help.

Actions you can take this week:
* FEBRUARY 17TH PROTEST (President's Day)
The 50501 (50 States. 50 Protests. 1 Day.) movement has declared Monday, February 17th as a day of protest. There will be a protest in Frankfort at the Kentucky State Capitol Building from noon until 2 p.m. We have heard that another protest will be happening at the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza in downtown Lexington at noon. We are not a sponsor or host of either of these protests. We encourage peaceful protesting!

* VISIT YOUR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS - MUSK OR US!
Our members of Congress are in recess this week. National Indivisible recommends getting together in groups of 5 to 15 and visiting their offices. If you'd like to organize an office visit, click here to access Indivisible's Musk or Us toolkit ([link removed]) .

* CALL YOUR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS
Call your members of Congress and let them know how you feel about topics that most concern you. The Indivisible website's section Take Action Now ([link removed]) and the 5 Calls website ([link removed]) provide talking points and information.

* OPPOSE HOUSE BILL 4
Kentucky's House Bill 4 ([link removed]) is anti-DEI legislation for Kentucky's Colleges and Universities. Call 1-800-372-7181 to oppose this bill.
