Elon Musk, the world's richest man, has hijacked vast swaths of the federal government on behalf of a far-right political project and his financial benefit. Key agencies and departments are being shut down, and federal workers are being tossed into the street. Trump is openly calling for the ethnic cleansing of more than two million Gazans.
Meanwhile, Republican members of Congress are readying plans to slash Medicaid, food stamps, and public education to pay for trillions of dollars in tax giveaways to the rich and large corporations.
Our role in this moment of crisis is to arm the people with the news and information they need to fight back, and we're already having a big impact.
We've seen a big increase in readership over the last several weeks, but this is just the beginning. The ones who have empowered Trump want to overwhelm us, exhaust us, and demoralize us — and we can never give them that satisfaction.
