As we pause today to reflect on President’s Day, it’s important to take a moment to honor the values that define this nation: a country “of the people, by the people, for the people.” These principles, so vital to our identity, are under siege now more than ever. But as we look toward the future, we know that the work we’re doing together — today and every day — is the path forward.
The Union’s mission is clear: to build a 50-state infrastructure that ensures every election is contested, every race is competitive, and every individual has the knowledge and tools to make their voice heard. Through community-driven efforts, we empower individuals in every corner of this country to act, organize, and collectively shape the future of our country.

As we look to the future — especially toward the critical elections of 2025 and beyond — it’s clear that the need for quality and local leadership has never been more urgent. The heart of our work lies with engaging overlooked communities, listening to their concerns, and meeting them with action. From now until 2028 and beyond, we are building something that will endure for decades: a nationwide pro-democracy infrastructure that brings together local leadership, year-round voter contact, and a commitment to long-term change.
We cannot afford to sit back and wait for change to come from the top down. As we celebrate President’s Day, we must remember that true leadership comes from the ground up — from the communities we serve, from the volunteers who tirelessly advocate for democracy, and from the countless individuals who choose to act, even in the face of adversity. We will continue to strengthen our grassroots efforts, engage in strategic messaging, and build the infrastructure that will drive change.
But we can’t do it alone. Today, we’re asking you to take one small step:
