John,
The President of the United States has directed the government to systematically eliminate trans people from every government website, while trying to revoking the privilege to serve in the military, our access to care, and our access to accurate government identification. And it’s been a month.
While the Trump Administration continues to put politics above safety and common sense, we continue to fight. He and his Administration cannot eliminate trans people. We will not be erased. We will continue to fight. We’ve fought him before. And he knows we’re here for the long haul. |

The last time Trump was President, he rolled back access to healthcare, enacted widespread discrimination against trans people, and banned us from the military. Sound familiar? And last time we were there stopping him, slowing him down, and promising to fix it later. With your help, we rallied, we litigated, and we papered them with thousands of comments sharing your stories to stop their policies. And we’re ready to do it again. Look, there are no two ways about it—our federal government is in a crisis. And this time is different. Civil service employees were locked out of computer systems. Medicaid payments were frozen. Trans people’s passports are being confiscated. The Trump Administration’s agenda is simply eliminating as many resources, protections, and human beings as possible.
But here at A4TE, we are bringing people in. We are building power to defend our community. We are educating members of Congress. We are fighting federal agencies. And we are litigating when government agencies don’t protect our people. As we have been for 20+ years. In that time, we’ve wrote regulations and won lawsuits that protect trans people in prison, insure trans people for medically necessary care, and provide accurate government identification: all issues our community continues to face.
|
At no point was this easy. We have—and will— face setbacks. This current moment, while daunting, is just that—a setback. We don’t stop our work just because of a setback. We double down and double our efforts.
As A4TE—and the trans community—has before, time and time again, we will respond. We’re strategizing, growing our staff, and digging in for the next four years. Can we count on you to dig in with us? |
We couldn’t have made it these past twenty years without our supporters, and we can’t make it the next twenty years without you—especially with this current administration. We know we have to fight harder than ever, and to do that, we need to be bigger, stronger, more powerful than ever. That will only happen with your support. Don’t wait until tomorrow. Rise to this moment with us today.
