Folks,As we celebrate Presidents' Day, I’m reminded of the moments in recent years that have tested the strength of our democracy.

Yet, the very values upon which our country was founded have continued to guide us through times of turmoil and division. The legacies of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, in particular, stand as timeless examples of leadership in the face of adversity.

Washington led with unwavering integrity, setting a high standard for those who seek to lead our nation. He warned against the dangers of partisanship, reminding us that unity and cooperation are essential to preserving our democracy.

Lincoln, leading the nation through its most profound division, proved that democracy—when harnessed as a force for progress—can change the course of history for the better. His leadership continues to inspire us to stand up for justice, equality, and the fundamental rights of all people.

On this Presidents' Day, let’s recommit to the values that have carried us through history—integrity, unity, and the unwavering pursuit of a more perfect union.

The best way to honor these presidents’ legacies is by working together, finding common ground, and empowering every American to reach new heights. As your Congresswoman, I’m committed to doing exactly that.

With gratitude,

Susie Lee
