Hi Friend,

Your unwavering support has helped secure a change in the status quo for animals in San Francisco's live markets. Together, we're creating forward progress and bringing hope to some of the most overlooked victims of animal cruelty.

Last week, San Francisco's Commission of Animal Control and Welfare voted unanimously to urge city authorities to take decisive action against animal cruelty in live markets. This potential turning point follows Animal Outlook's powerful 2024 investigation ([link removed]) , which exposed shocking acts of cruelty, such as frogs being decapitated, fish being bludgeoned to death, and turtles being hacked into while they are still alive β€” practices that have no place in our food system.

Our team, including myself, Director of Investigations Scott David, and Staff Attorney Jareb Gleckel, presented compelling evidence to the Commission. Alongside passionate local activists and organizers from Compassionate Bay, we made an undeniable case for change. The result? A resounding 6-0 vote in favor of implementing unannounced inspections and enforcement measures at these facilities and engaging with local businesses regarding California’s animal cruelty laws.

Our investigation has captured national attention, with coverage from CBS, Daily Mail, and SF Standard. But more importantly, it represents a crucial step toward ending the normalized violence against animals in live markets.

While this progress is encouraging, we know there's more work to be done. The most powerful way you can help end animal cruelty today is by embracing veganism ([link removed]) . Every vegan meal you choose sends a clear message: cruelty has no place on our plates.

Ready to make a difference? Visit our website for our free Vegan Starter Guide ([link removed]) , information on animal agriculture, recipes, nutrition tips, and practical advice for embracing a compassionate lifestyle. Your choice to go vegan not only saves animals but also demonstrates that a more just and sustainable world is possible.

Thank you for being part of this movement for change. Together, we're not just exposing truth β€” we're creating a future where all animals are protected, respected, and free from cruelty.
For truth and justice,
Ben Williamson
