Friends, it’s Presidents' Day. And since there’s not much to celebrate, today, we’re thinking about Warren G. Harding – widely considered the Worst President Ever.

A few things Warren G. Harding did:

1. Warren oversaw the Teapot Dome Scandal, when members of his administration secretly leased federal oil reserves to private companies in exchange for bribes – such as a free herd of cattle for the Secretary of Interior’s ranch.
2. Warren once said “I am not fit for this office and should never have been here.” A little late for such self discovery, but honest nonetheless.
3. Warren was not only an adulterer, but became the subject of a best-selling memoir – The President’s Daughter – written by his mistress.

Not great. But does he really deserve the title of Worst President Ever?

(For good measure) A few things Donald Trump did:

1. Trump claimed that there were “very fine people on both sides” of a local Nazi rally.
2. Trump took a Purple Heart from a veteran who had earned it in combat, explaining “I’ve always wanted to get the Purple Heart. This was much easier.”
3. Trump lost an election, claimed he won, and incited a violent mob to attack the US Capitol. Oh, and then pardoned that violent mob 4 years later.
4. Trump insisted that John McCain was not a war hero because he was captured. He said, on the subject, “I like people who weren’t captured.”

Does Warren G. Harding still deserve his title? We’ll let you decide.
