Friend,
Every day, I’m reminded of what we’re fighting for.
You sent me to Washington, DC to fight for you. And together, we’ve been able to do so much for social, economic, racial, and environmental justice—even up against a broken system that puts corporate profits ahead of the needs of millions of people.
Growing up in Detroit, the birthplace of many social movements, I learned about injustice and resilience. I ran to be a bold voice in Congress for my constituents in Michigan’s 13th district, the third poorest in the country. And I’ve stayed rooted in our community, creating four neighborhood service centers and addressing people’s everyday needs while also pushing for long-term systemic change.
Since the 2018 election―which sent more women, working people, and women of color to Congress than ever before―we’re only just beginning to see what’s possible through collective action, demanding a better life for all. Our work is far from over.
Today, I’m asking for your support to ensure that work continues in Congress beyond 2020. This is too important to stay on the sidelines.
Will you make a $5 donation before midnight tonight to show the strength of our movement for progressive change—and to fight back against an unjust status quo that seeks to silence our voices and limit our power?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your secure donation will go through immediately:
You, my family, and my neighbors are the reason I will never stop fighting hate with love.
Thank you for your support and for believing in the possibility that someone like me―a Muslim woman and the child of working-class Palestinian immigrants―can serve in the U.S. Congress.
Always serving you,
Rashida
