[link removed] [[link removed]] I wanted to make sure you didn’t miss this.
Last week, I emailed you about Trump’s attack on Colorado—blocking critical federal funds that our communities rely on for hospitals, schools, and law enforcement. He’s sidestepping democracy and putting real families at risk.
Right now, millions of dollars are stuck on hold. Organizations are locked from accessing critical funds, and Coloradans are rightfully worried about what comes next. I’m working every way possible—but I need your help.
Can you take a moment to read my full message below, then chip in today to help us take on Trump’s attacks and keep fighting for Colorado? [[link removed]]

[email protected] [[link removed]] Leaders should fix problems—not create them.
But time and time again, Trump and National Republicans have chosen chaos over solutions. And now, they’re taking it even further.
Trump’s administration has already attempted to unlawfully freeze funding meant for Colorado—cutting off critical support for hospitals, schools, and law enforcement.
These aren’t just numbers on a spreadsheet—real people are being impacted . If the order weren’t put on hold:
* Nearly 9,000 Colorado kids could have lost access to HeadStart, putting them at risk of falling behind in school.
* Nearly 83,000 Colorado families could have been left without heat this winter.
* Over 25,000 Colorado seniors wouldn’t have known if their next meal would be delivered by Meals on Wheels.
* Our law enforcement and public safety would be cut off from funding they need to crack down on fentanyl, prevent terrorism, and stop school violence.
Now, Trump is pushing the limits even more—moving to illegally shut down federal agencies and put Americans’ private data at risk.
This isn’t how democracy works. Our system was built to prevent abuse of power—but Trump is ignoring those safeguards to force his extreme agenda. We’re all for making government better and more efficient, but that doesn’t mean breaking the law or hurting the people we serve.
We aren’t standing by. We’re committed to using every tool we can to disrupt their illegal actions. We’ll fight in the courts, on the Senate floor, and wherever necessary to stand up for Colorado and protect our democracy.
Last week, my Senate colleagues and I held up the floor all night to oppose Russell Vought, Trump’s nominee to lead the Office of Management and Budget who authored the far-right Project 2025.
I’m committed to disrupting business as usual and will oppose every nominee that poses a real threat to Coloradans.
This won’t be an easy fight but it’s too important to give up now. Thank you for being in this together.
More to come,
John
