Hello,
Democrats are more concerned than ever that Trump may try to abuse his power to disrupt November's election.
Trump has joked about serving more than two terms as president in the past, and recently his son-in-law Jared Kusher said he couldn't promise there'd be a November election. But now, a DNC lawyer fighting for voting rights has shared a new concern with The New York Times -- Trump might use his power as commander in chief to physically restrict Americans from voting.
Possible actions Trump could take include "declaring a state of emergency, deploying the National Guard or forbidding gatherings of more than 10 people." Trump has admitted to declaring national emergencies for political reasons in the past and has already said he has "total" authority as president -- we need to make sure his unchecked power doesn't threaten the core of our democracy.
If you agree, please lend your voice to ours and tell us what you think:
Should Congress act now to protect the November election?
