VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump flails with devastating public admission during softball interview
The MAGA cult leader, who repeatedly promised on the campaign trail to lower prices on everyday goods for Americans on "day one," was asked the most basic of questions during a softball interview on Fox News: do you think there will be a recession? His answer, a meandering word salad dodge about doing big things and, uh, bringing wealth back to America, was conspicuously missing one very simple, very important, and very telling word: "No."
Trump's new message to Americans worried about skyrocketing egg prices: "Shut up"
Hey, remember when Donald and JD promised — over and over — to bring down the price of goods, especially and including eggs, on day one of their administration? Yeah, no. The MAGA cult leader has a new message for the masses: "Shut up." Trump shared an article on his social media platform from right-wing trash-rag Daily Caller entitled "Shut Up About Egg Prices — Trump Is Saving Consumers” written by none other than right-wing gasbag Charlie Kirk. File under "G" for gaslighting.

US added to international watchlist for rapid decline in civic freedoms
Donald Trump's chaotic march towards autocracy has not gone unnoticed by organizations that monitor such things, as Civicus, an international non-profit organization dedicated to "strengthening citizen action and civil society around the world," announced the inclusion of the US on the non-profit’s first watchlist of 2025 on Monday, alongside the illustrious company of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Italy, Pakistan, and Serbia. The decision to add the United States to the first 2025 watchlist was made in response to what the group described as the "Trump administration’s assault on democratic norms and global cooperation." It's gonna be a long four years, folks.

Trump calls Zelenskyy "ungrateful," says Ukraine "may not survive," and dodges question on whether he’s now backing Russia in Fox News interview
Donald Trump casually admitted in a televised interview that Ukraine, a sovereign European nation of 37 million, "may not survive" Russia's brutal invasion — in no small part due to America's waffling support under his own watch — in a truly historic foreign policy faux pas. The MAGA cult leader, fixated on his gripe that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy hasn't been sufficiently grateful for the United States' support during the three-year war, keeps bringing checkers to a chess match, to the delight of the Kremlin, of course, which has publicly celebrated America's foreign policy alignment with its own.

ICE arrests and disappears Palestinian graduate student activist who helped lead Columbia's anti-war protests, whereabouts unknown
If you needed any more evidence that fascism is here to stay in Trump's America, look no further than the shocking arrest and disappearance of former Columbia graduate student Mahmoud Khalil, who was taken away by ICE agents in New York City over the weekend for his activism on orders from Secretary of State Marco Rubio that his student visa was revoked. When the agents were told that he was, in fact, a permanent resident with a green card, they simply replied that his green card had also been revoked. To add insult to injury, the jack-booted thugs then threatened to arrest his wife, who is eight months pregnant and an American citizen. Khalil vanished on Saturday; when his wife went to visit him at the facility he had been ostensibly taken to in New Jersey, she was told he wasn't there. His official location has not been released, though ICE trackers have reason to believe he maybe in Louisiana. Folks, let's be 100% clear here: if they can disappear legal residents, they can and will disappear US citizens. Nobody is safe if you can be arrested for protesting, deprived of your rights, and then thrown into the labyrinth of the US immigration gulag. If this sounds like something out of a right-wing Latin American dictatorship, you'd be correct; the imperial boomerang is hitting home.

New Canadian PM Carney says retaliatory tariffs to stay until "America shows us some respect"
Canada’s new Prime Minister, Mark Carney, delivered a fiery acceptance speech after being elected Liberal Party leader Sunday night, vowing to resist Donald Trump's threats of annexation and to maintain tariffs on US imports until "America shows us some respect." Carney, who is set to succeed outgoing PM Justin Trudeau added, "Canada never, ever, will be part of America in any way, shape or form. We didn't ask for this fight, but Canadians are always ready when someone else drops the gloves."
Lauren Boebert blows her racist dog whistle again
Colorado carpetbagger Lauren Boebert foisted herself back into the headlines for all the wrong reasons yesterday with a not-so-subtle racist jab at Democratic Rep. Al Green, who was censured last week by the House for disrupting and protesting Donald Trump's address to Congress on Tuesday night. Boebert, during an interview on the right-wing Real America’s Voice, whitewashed her own State of the Union histrionics from years past before chastising the 77-year-old Green, who is Black, for shaking his "pimp cane" at the president. Ah, yes. A pimp cane. Because he's Black. Got it.
JD Vance’s own relative — who fought in Ukraine — rips VP and Trump as "Putin’s useful idiots" amid White House aid freeze
Vice President JD Vance’s first cousin Nate Vance, who reportedly spent three years fighting against Russia's invasion in Ukraine as part of the "Da Vinci Wolves" battalion, branded him and Donald Trump as "useful idiots" to Russian President Vladimir Putin as the administration halts military aid to Ukraine. The vice president's cousin, speaking to French newspaper Le Figaro, called Trump and Vance's Oval Office meeting with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy last week "an ambush of absolute bad faith." He continued, "Donald Trump and my cousin clearly believe they can placate Vladimir Putin. They are wrong. The Russians are not about to forget our support for Ukraine. We are Vladimir Putin’s useful idiots."
Rubio and Musk turn on Polish foreign minister in spat over Starlink use in Ukraine
Sec. of State Marco Rubio joined DOGE chief ding dong Elon Musk in picking a fight with Poland’s foreign minister on Sunday as the three squabbled over Musk’s Starlink system and its use in Ukraine. Sunday’s three-way exchange was just the latest example of American foreign relations turning into a blame game as Rubio reiterated the White House’s position that Europe was insufficient with its praise and gratitude after three years of US support for Ukraine’s defense. Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski apparently took issue with Phony Stark congratulating himself for single-handedly standing up to Putin and calling Starlink the "backbone of the Ukrainian army," pointing out via tweet that Poland was, in fact, paying the $50 million annual bill for the satellite internet service in Ukraine and would consider alternatives if "SpaceX proves to be an unreliable provider." A clearly irritated Musk responded with a tweet of his own: "Be quiet, small man. You pay a tiny fraction of the cost. And there is no substitute for Starlink."
Trump demanded Steve Bannon "lay off" attacking Elon Musk, Maggie Haberman says
The MAGA cult leader reportedly intervened in the ongoing feud between two of his most important supporters, far-right populist Steve Bannon and the world's richest man-toddler Elon Musk, asking his former chief strategist to dial back his attacks on the oligarch who bankrolled his return the Oval Office. It would appear the pair's shared embrace of white supremacy simply hasn't been enough to overcome their stark differences in economic policy. Bannon has railed against Musk in recent months, dismissing him as a "parasitic illegal immigrant" and a "truly evil person." "He’s still not a populist nationalist, he’s a globalist," Bannon told The New York Times last month. "He and I have a chasm that is probably insurmountable."
